The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, known as NYSERDA, promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. NYSERDA partners with lenders across New York State to help small businesses and not-for-profits access low-interest financing for energy efficiency improvements.
NYSERDA finances 50% of the loan principal, up to $50,000, at 2.0% interest and the lender finances the remaining loan principal at market rate.
