NBT Bank's Hallak-Serwatka Named Lender of the Year

UTICA, NY (August 11, 2016) – NBT Bank Regional President John Buffa announced that Senior Commercial Banking Relationship Manager Mary Ann Hallak-Serwatka has been named the 2016 Lender of the Year by the New York Business Development Corporation (NYBDC).

Hallak-Serwatka is responsible for developing and managing business relationships with commercial customers throughout the Mohawk Valley. She is based at NBT Bank’s Utica Financial Center located at 270 Genesee Street.

The award honors bankers for their creativity, perseverance and dedication to promoting access to capital to their small business customers. NYBDC provides opportunities to access capital to create or preserve job opportunities and to stimulate the growth, expansion and modernization of small businesses in New York State. Through their partnership with the corporation, award recipients champion economic development and job creation in the state.

Buffa congratulated Mary Ann on this honor saying, “Mary Ann earned the award for her commitment to the partnership NBT Bank has built with the NYBDC and her efforts developing creative financing solutions for businesses in the Mohawk Valley.”

A resident of Utica, Hallak-Serwatka holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Le Moyne College and an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She has also completed numerous banking and real estate courses.
